Did it ever exist?

 Did my love ever exist?

Alfred Sisley- Summer of Saint Martin

Ah! Flow, flow, flow, my little river

Flow as if tomorrow will bring drought

Flow, you who love me and water me

With courage to face all trials

With love, love, and tenderness

July returns to these ruins

With its luminous brilliance

So that the light whose source has a thousand knots

May triumph over the shadows

Both dazzling and tremendous

This brilliance touches my eyes

Like the hand of a lover.

If I were the great God...

I would have given it gracious power

So that my soul would not be in pain

And as calm as a dead sea.

Without waves, but serene.

Without storms and without ordeals.

July, July is extraordinary!

Now my heart is unleashed.

Of all the thrilling dreams

Mine is the harvest of the splendors...

O beloved and exhilarating paths

I call you back from time to time

Has my love ever crumbled?
