J'Accuse of July 21. The Cancellation of Maestro Valery Gergiev's Concert is Tyrannical and Does Not Represent Western Culture

The Directiont of the Royal Palace of Caserta,or better yet, someone who counts in the halls of power in Italy,  has ordered the cancellation of the symphony concert conducted by Maestro Valery Gergiev, scheduled as part of the "A Royal Summer in the Courtyard of the Vanvitelli Complex" series. What was the reason for the decision? The response was that the presence of the Russian conductor, widely criticized for his positions perceived to be close to Putin, had sparked strong controversy. What controversy if no Italian knows the maestro! And it was also added that "there were fears of possible protests organized by Ukrainian associations." In short, you couldn't be more ridiculous! Now you even fear the Ukrainian associations present on Italian soil, as if they are the true citizens of this country and we are their guests. But don't be silly; this case further demonstrates the climate of intimidation and censorship surrounding this war. We do not wish to address the truth, repeatedly reiterated by J'Accuse: that the war in Ukraine is in reality a war of imperialists and tyrants against the Ukrainian and Russian people, and that the war would never have broken out if NATO and the European Union had not altered the course of history in Kiev in 2014, overthrowing the democratically elected regime of President Viktor Yanukovych with a sham revolution organized by Western intelligence agencies, thus giving rise to this very war between Russia and the West. That Maestro Valery Gergiev has his own political view of the situation and has embraced the thesis of his native Russia is more than legitimate, and everyone enjoys freedom of conscience and criticism that no military force in the world, much less any censorship or, even more mockingly, any Ukrainian association, can dictate the law in our country and ban a classical mosaic concert that has nothing to do with the ongoing war but is primarily aimed at punishing the Maestro for his political views favorable to his country of birth. This is the horrible face of those in the West who seek to erase anyone whose views or values differ from those espoused today by this West in moral, political, and economic decline. We see this barbarity: a genocide is underway in Palestine, and none of these "Ukrainian" associations has stood up and shouted against the submissive leaders compromised by Netanyahu's genocidal government. Let us remember that Italy is, after the USA and Germany, the third largest supplier of weapons to the Jewish state. This is an undeniable involvement in the genocide, one that history will take into account. The bombing of the church in Gaza itself ended in a waltz of squalid excuses and unacceptable justifications, yet every Lord's Day hundreds of people are killed without those conscientious individuals who mobilized to ban the Russian Maestro's concert saying or doing anything to stop Israel's genocidal hand. We apologize and express our solidarity with the Russian maestro Valery Gergiev and the citizens who are disappointed and opposed to this measure.
