J'Accuse, Friday, August 9, 2025, on Netanyahu's criminal and inhumane plan to occupy Gaza

While all Western governments, driven to exasperation by their public opinion after months of massacres of civilians, shout or "feign" condemnation of Netanyahu's plan to militarily occupy the Gaza Strip, Arab countries remain silent, or worse still, limit themselves to bland declarations of condemnation that do not shift even a grain of sand in their desert. But there are also those who have openly allied themselves with the Jewish state, such as the Gulf states, who not only remain silent, but give it their full support. In short, it is an interminable carnage, and this story is emblematic of our times, marked by the moral and political decline of civilized nations and the inability of the United Nations, constantly blocked by the US veto, to impose itself against the will of a war criminal who acts and plans his plan to exterminate the Palestinians with impunity. But the question that naturally arises is: why does Netanyahu want to occupy the same rubble that he and his army have caused in nearly two years of bombing? The answer is obvious, simple, and consequential: Israel wants to annex the Strip and drive out the Palestinians, grabbing the riches of its lands and sea, rich in gas deposits, already estimated at trillions of dollars. How long will it take to quell the resistance of the Palestinian people who still resist? It seems to us that the war criminal's decisions have always been risky and unrealistic. What will happen if the occupation plan is implemented is the increase in the number of victims and the very scale of the genocide. Civilized nations have the conscience to respond with appropriate action, if they have the conscience; otherwise, history will tell us that the West not only remained silent but also armed and supported Netanyahu.
