The Twilight of Humanity: Confronting the Absurdity of the Modern Order

We live in an era where the foundational pillars of international law are not merely fractured; they are systematically obliterated by the very powers that claim to be their custodians. The global landscape has devolved into a theater of the absurd, characterized by the unpunished transgressions of the United States and Israel, whose actions consistently violate the sovereign rights of peoples and international humanitarian frameworks.
In this dark panorama of spreading barbarism, the recent appointment of Lavy Pilly emerges as a rare triumph of common sense over systemic madness. It serves as a necessary ideological counterweight to a world spiraling out of moral control. Decades ago, Jean-Paul Sartre vividly captured the paralyzing nature of such institutionalized insanity, noting that when tyranny masks itself as the norm, the truth appears inherently disruptive:
"Do you think that I should live in peace if I were to accept your laws? Tyranny is not a matter of choice; it is an absurdity that perpetuates itself by crushing the rational soul." [1]
The Global Dichotomy: Justice vs. Totalitarian Decay
Today, the geopolitical arena is split by a profound dichotomy. On one side stands a coalition of nations—largely operating outside the Western hegemony—that still militates for the vision of a just world, grounded in mutual respect and international legality. On the opposite side stands a bloc guided by the major Western "democracies," or those that masquerade as such.
Far from upholding democratic values, these regimes have converted to a deeply dehumanizing, totalitarian ideology. Their pursuit of unilateral dominance is actively driving humanity toward a multifaceted twilight:
  • Human and Ethical Decline: A complete erosion of empathy and cosmic justice in favor of raw power dynamics.
  • Demographic and Social Crisis: Fragmented societies suffering under economic polarization and social alienation.
  • Technological Misdirection: The weaponization of innovation rather than its application for collective human advancement.
The Weaponization of Superintelligence
This civilizational crisis is further compounded by the rise of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI). While technology should ideally guide the world toward a new era of progress and shared enlightenment, its current development under capitalist and imperialist structures threatens the very survival of the human species.
Detractors and prominent tech figures have warned against this unchecked trajectory with chilling precision. Philosophers and researchers like Nick Bostrom have noted that "before the prospect of an intelligence explosion, we humans are like small children playing with a bomb." [2] Similarly, industry pioneers have warned that the development of full artificial intelligence "could spell the end of the human race," as it will take off on its own and re-design itself at an ever-increasing rate, eventually outstripping and erasing human history, culture, and our collective intelligence [3]. We risk being phased out, our historic legacy deleted by algorithmic governance optimized for geopolitical control.
Imperialist Collusion and Domestic Hypocrisy
The structural decay of the international framework is most glaringly evident in the denial of ongoing atrocities. The horrific devastation of the Palestinian people and the instrumentalization of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict are driven by totalizing imperialist ambitions. These conflicts represent a absolute denial of the right to self-determination and the refusal to acknowledge mass atrocities for what they are.
This international schism is directly reflected within our domestic political borders. A deep moral stagnation paralyzes both the fragmented political opposition and the current governing majority. Our domestic political class remains fundamentally divided on critical human rights issues—such as the unequivocal recognition of Palestinian independence and their right to a sovereign state, or the unconditional funding of prolonged warfare in Ukraine.
This internal chaos is not merely a political or parliamentary crisis; it is a profound ethical and human bankruptcy. Constitutional guarantees and humanistic values are routinely discarded in favor of cold, calculated opportunism.
Niccolò Machiavelli, in his pragmatic dissection of political power, accurately described the dark reality of a world governed solely by self-interest and deceit, bypassing moral laws:
"Therefore, a prudent ruler cannot keep his word, nor should he, when such fidelity would be to his disadvantage, and when the reasons that made him give his promise are no longer valid. If all men were good, this precept would not be good; but because they are envious and do not keep their word to you, you are not bound to keep yours to them." [4]
When modern states fully embrace this cynical doctrine, dropping all pretense of international solidarity, they abandon the human soul. The path forward demands a revolutionary reclamation of our history, our intelligence, and our shared dignity against the barbaric absurdities of the current global empire.
